Keep potentially damaging tools and construction debris off of your windows with Goo-Guard!

window-protection-austinAccent Glass Resurfacing now offers a unique method of protecting windows from construction damage using our proprietary Goo-Guard product line. Using a patented, eco-friendly, water based polymer, we apply a liquid coating to both the inside and outside of the windows shortly after installation. When dry, this substance becomes a translucent, rubbery solid about 2 mils thick and provides Ultimate Surface Protection with abrasion and puncture resistance.

Unlike many factory-applied films, our coating will not bake onto the glass during hot Austin summers, and it may be left on the windows as long as necessary. To remove, simply lift a corner and peel with ease. Any mortar, stucco, cement, spray paint, and other debris that accumulates during construction peels off with the film, leaving the windows ready to be cleaned with little effort.

window-coating-austinIt is essential that you know the condition of your window package before any protection is applied. That’s why we perform a close inspection of each window prior to coating to flag any potential issues (scratches, chips, breaks, low-e damage, etc.). Each item is listed on an inspection report to aid the builder in addressing these well before closing. There is no additional charge for this service.

Our Goo-Guard installation service is available for builders, window distributors, and glass companies in the greater Austin Area. Goo-Guard products are available for purchase in large batch quantities for industrial use only.

FAQ

What is the difference between Goo-Guard protection and factory applied protective films?

Factory applied window films sometimes offer little protection, can be difficult to remove, and hide any defects that may have existed prior to shipment. On the other hand, Goo-Guard is a 2 mil rubberized barrier that offers abrasion and puncture resistance. It can be easily removed without razors, thus reducing the chances of scratching the glass, unlike factory films that often bake onto the glass during hot Austin summers. Prior to coating, we perform a close inspection of each window to flag any potential issues, i.e. scratches, breaks, low-e damage, etc., so that you can address these well in advance of closing.

Does your Goo-Guard installation price include removal as well?

Your window cleaners can easily remove Goo-Guard as part of their cleaning process by lifting a corner of the film with their fingernail or a straight-edge. If Goo-Guard resists removal due to excessive heat, you may also use water to reactivate the film and then peel. Alternatively, we do offer a removal service at an additional charge.
